Dan Smith « Back   

Dan Smith's Human Resources career spans 25 years in all areas of Human Resources Management.   He has been involved in the start-up of steel mills, power plants, furniture and boiler manufacturing facilities.   As a training professional, he implemented an organization wide behavioral management development program for a 1,500 employee division of a Fortune 50 company.

 

His experience in labor relations includes the successful negotiation of many collective bargaining agreements as well as construction industry project site agreements.   At Lycoming/Textron, he was able to maintain a positive labor management relations climate for over 8 years, until a successor agreement was crafted under his leadership.   He has successfully defended his employers from being organized on three different occasions.   Dan has appeared before the General Counsel and Staff of the National Labor Relations Board in defense of Lycoming/Textron's outsourcing decisions.

 

During his career, Dan has successfully recruited hundreds of positions from the shop floor to general management.   He has developed and administered several compensation and benefits programs for multiple organizations.

 

Dan holds a B.S. in Mineral Economics from Penn State University, and has completed all coursework for a Masters in Public Administration from the same University.   He is an active member in SHRM and an effective presenter.
